What is Markdown?

To quote Wikipedia,

Markdown is a lightweight markup language with plain text formatting syntax. It is the most common method of writing content for Jekyll, which converts it to html output.

Some commonly used options

bold             **bold**
emphasise   *emphasise*
link               [link](http://)
List               * item
H1                # Heading (note space)
 ¦
 ¦
 ¦
H6                ###### Heading

A blank line will generate the next line as a paragraph. Add 2 blank spaces after a line to generate a < /br> tag.

A useful Markdown resource.
